What began as a deep dive into the history of Kilauea and its past eruptions quickly led us down a rabbit hole into old Hula publications. 

In one of these old books, next to a mo’olelo of Kaua’i, we discovered this image that would come to be the centerpiece of this tee. 

With every word in ‘Ōlelo Hawai’i and in a red and yellow color way (colors that held significant importance in the context of Hawaiian royalty, symbolizing power, prestige, and sacredness), we continue to bridge the gap between the black mountains on the horizon, and the ones looking down on us.
